About Me

Electrical engineer specializing in EMT model development and simulation of inverter based resources (IBRs), with a particular focus on wind turbines. Key areas of expertise include detailed model development, automation, and PSCAD simulation tool development.

PSCAD / EMTDC simulation expert with more than 11 years of experience working directly with the PSCAD development team, providing an in depth understanding of PSCAD, EMTDC, and their application to complex power system studies.

Having reviewed countless PSCAD models over the years, I have encountered many common modeling mistakes, unusual behaviors, and software issues. Years as part of the PSCAD support team further shaped my deep understanding of the software, its inner workings, and the challenges users encounter. I now enjoy sharing that knowledge, along with practical tips, techniques, and lessons learned, for the benefit of the broader PSCAD and EMT simulation community.

Self proclaimed bug finder. If there is an unusual way to use software, I seem to stumble across it eventually, usually by accident. Over the years, this has led me to uncover my fair share of interesting bugs, unexpected behaviors, and edge cases.

I created the largest online, free and open-source collection of PSCAD cases and downloadable examples: https://EMT-Tools.com
